PART 09 · Hiring decisions

How to Hire an Outsourced Marketing Team for Your Event Company

Hire against the decisions and work you need to delegate. A useful proposal should make responsibility, deliverables, investment and measurement easy to understand before the engagement begins.

Give candidates a business brief

Describe your services, markets, ideal clients, available capacity and growth priorities. Explain what is already working and where the owner remains the bottleneck. Share enough information for a relevant discussion without circulating unnecessary client or financial details.

List the people and vendors already involved. A team that will direct an internal coordinator needs a different scope from one expected to create content, manage campaigns and configure follow-up. Be explicit about which role you are hiring.

Ask how strategy becomes completed work

Request an explanation of the diagnostic, the first set of priorities and the approval process. Ask who will be your day-to-day contact, who performs the work and how decisions reach the people implementing them.

For a wedding or event business, the team should understand date-based capacity, seasonality, referral relationships and the gap between a lead and a booking. Evaluate the quality of the questions asked, rather than relying on a long list of platforms or a polished presentation alone.

Compare the scope and commercial terms

Clarify the number of campaigns, landing pages, content pieces and meetings included. Confirm advertising limits, production costs, additional scope and cancellation terms. Ask how account access, business data and working files will be handled during the engagement and at handover.

Discuss what the reports will show and what information your team must provide. If a guarantee is offered, ask for the actual eligibility criteria, goals, measurement method and timeline in writing. Do not treat a broad promise on a website as a complete agreement.

Plan the working relationship before kickoff

Nominate one decision-maker, establish approval deadlines and agree which changes need owner authorization. Keep a shared record of priorities so the engagement does not become a collection of disconnected requests.

BMG provides a U.S.-based team serving the wedding and event industry, with monthly plans for content, booking campaigns or outsourced leadership. Use the consultation to review the fit and confirm the service level that matches the work you want to hand over.
